Caff?? Nero group was founded in 1997 by Gerry Ford. His vision was to bring a premium, continental-style Caf?? to Great Britain.
In 1997, Gerry Ford bought five retail sites in London and began putting his vision of Caff?? Nero into the coffee houses. It took about a year to get the brand right, and in 1998 three more coffee houses were opened in London giving the group eight stores.
By the end of 2000, Caff?? Nero had 31 stores and had become a national brand. Caff?? Nero continued to perform, winning The British Design Council Award for the best company identity, meaning the best brand in the UK.
